How to make Aval|poga sweet pongal

Aval pongal is a quick indian dessert. you can give it to the toddler as breakfast or dinner. you can give this dessert to kids by replacing chips and chocolates

Ingredients:

1 Cup Aval(thick Aval)
1/4 Cup jaggery(vellam)
3 Cardamon
1 Small piece dry ginger
3 tsp ghee

Method
  • Rinse the Aval 2 to 3 times and soak it in water 10 minutes.When the Aval comes soft texture, drain the remaining water and keep aside until cook
  • Grind the Cardamon and dry ginger, transfer the plate and keep aside
  • Further more heat a pan and add 1 tsp ghee
  • Add cashew nuts and saute them until cashew turns golden brown
  • In a pan heat 1 cup of water, add jaggery to it. when it dissolves, add Cardamom and dry ginger powder and boil it 2 to 3 minutes
  • Filter the jaggery syrub for remove the impurity 
  • In a pan add the jaggery syrub and let it boil for a minutes
  • Add poha and ghee to the jaggery syrub,Let it cook on low heat
  • Pour the tempering cashews on the cooked poha
  • Serve the poha pongal

Ingredients:

Let it cook on low heat
Further more heat a pan and add 1 tsp ghee
    Add cashew nuts and saute them until cashew turns golden brown
      Pour the tempering cashews on the cooked poha
      Serve the poha  

        Notes:
        If you are using thick Aval rinse the aval 2 or 3 times, drain it completely.then add some water,let it sit 10 to 15 minutes. So that it will become soft
        You can use any kind of aval.but make sure check it is soft before adding to the pongal
