        How to Make Carrot Poriyal


Carrot poriyal is the Perfect side dish for lunch in the south Indian tamilnadu menu.It is very simple recipe that's very delicious too. we add grated coconut at the end. it is optional.

Ingredients:
3 Carrot Grated
1 Big onion Chopped
2 Green chilies silted
½ Cup Coconut Grated
½ tsp turmeric
Salt to taste

To Tempering:
1 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Sprig Curry leaves
2 Tsp Oil

To Grinding
3 Garlic
½ tsp Cumin seeds(Jeeragam)

Preparation:
Add Garlic and Cumin seeds to Mixi jar. grind it as smooth paste and keep aside

Method:
1.      Heat a pan. Add 2 tsp oil
2.      Add Mustard seeds
3.      When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves
4.      Add green chilies and Onion. Sauté it till onion turns golden brown
5.      Add Grated carrot and spraying few water
6.      Close the lid and let it cook for 10 minutes on low heat
7.      Add grinding Cumin and garlic paste 
8.      Add Turmeric 
9.      Add Coconut and required salt. let it cook for a minute
10.    Serve carrot poriyal with rice

Step by Step Pictorial Instructions:
Ingredients:
Heat a pan. Add 2 tsp oil
Add Mustard seeds
When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves
Add green chilies and Onion. Sauté it till onion turns golden brown
Add Grated carrot and spraying few water
Close the lid and let it cook for 10 mins minute on low heat
Add grinding Cumin and garlic paste 
Add Turmeric 
Add Coconut and required salt. let it cook for 5 minutes

Mix well the poriyal
Serve carrot poriyal with rice
