How to make Cabbage Kootu | Mutaikose kootu | Chittinadu style
When you are boring with cabbage Poriyal, you can try this kootu. Its very simple and delicious. We can have with both rice and chappathi.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Cabbage, Finely chopped
1 small Onion, Finely chopped
50 gram Moong dal
1 tblsp Chilli Powder
½ tblsp Sambar Powder
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Pinch Hing(Perungayam)
Salt to taste
To Grinding
½ cup grated coconut
1 tsp Cumin seeds
6 Garlic, peeled
To Tempering
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2 dry chilly
1 sprig Curry leaves
Oil for Cooking
For Garnishing:
Coriander leaves, Chopped
Preparation:
Transfer the grated coconut, cumin seeds, garlic to the mix jar. Grind it and keep aside.
Method:
1. In a Pressure cooker, add Cabbage, Onion, Moong dal, Chilli Powder, Sambar Powder, Salt and required water. Cover the pressure cooker for 6 whistle on medium flame.
2. Once the pressure cooker settle down, open the cooker and do the mix
3. Add coconut paste to the kootu, mix well. Let it boil for a minute
4. Add turmeric and hing. Let it cook till the Coconut paste raw smell disappear
5. Further more, sprinkle coriander leaves
6. Mean while, heat a pan add 2 tsp oil and add mustard seeds
7. When mustard seeds crackle, add dry chilly and curry leaves
8. Pour the tempering over the mutaikose kootu and mix well
9. Serve the mutaikose kottu with rice or chappathi

Notes:
You can add channa or toor dal instead of moong dal. Or else you will be using toor dal+Moong dal combination.
You can increase or decrease chilli power as per your taste.
Combination:
Chappathi + Muttaikose Kootu
Rice + Rasam + Muttaikose Kootu
Rice + Vathal Kulambu or puli kulambu + Cabbage kootu
